Before I started blogging (which was like a year or two ago) I had a great social life and yet had my online business which was bringing me that extra revenue which could afford me many luxurious going outs, expensive clothes and what so not. But let me separate this post in Before Blogging and After Blogging.

Before Blogging

My social life was more relaxing, more going outs, more friends, more drinks and definitively less sleep during night (actually, i was almost like Dracula if not even better, live during the night and sleep during the day). Everything was so intense and my days were always full, and each of the day was different from the next one. Late night at the bars, few hours sleep early in the morning and later in the morning (after an hour or two of sleep) was already out (most likely on swimming pool, if not in another Caffee shop).

When I first started my online business I was already working full time, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day (not counting the 1 hour break). That work was taking too much of my time that I really did not had much time to really enjoy my life, thats why after ups and down and the internet skills I had since ever I decided to start a online small web hosting business which started to slow grow, then jumped into building few mini sites and use affiliate links, and all this was done during the few free hours I had (between university studies and work). This jump on making some extra bucks online gave me the freedom to reduce my working hours from full time (let me stamp it in your mind, 5 days a week 8 hours a day + 1 hour break) to part time work (4 days a week 6 hours a day) and still making the same money as I used to when I worked full time, but huh I got whole 3 free days just for myself.

I knew it was going to work out the extra 3 free days I had into increasing my online revenue and enjoy my life even better. After 4 months that I started working part time, money was no longer a issue, but I liked to keep the work for one or another reason (mainly because I had a scheduled week and some of my friends were actually even my colleagues and it was fun working with them).

Just as many would become greedy for money after tasting a good amount of bucks I started to become greedy too, but not for money that much, rather for my free time. I liked so much my free time that I wanted more…and more…and more, and since I had already reached a steady income online I could permit myself to quit my part time job and have the whole free time I ever wanted. And this was my biggest mistake, all this free time turned out to slowly turn me into “internet addicted” once I started blogging.

After Blogging

With my entrance in the blogsphere almost 2 years ago blogging started to pull me closer and closer to blogging, it pulled me that close that I became addicted to internet (and not only to blogging). I started slowly to cut out the time I would spend with my friends (and for this it helped me the cold winter, I hate cold and especially going out during the winter), in other words I started to put aside my friends to spend more time my computer and together with this killing my social life. So flash preview of the Good and Bad that blogging and internet brought to me, I came to conclusion that it more hurt me (in the social life perspective) rather then helped me (I am not a big chatter, so I rather even chat online, another big minus for me?).

The Good

• Do not have to hear a work giver complaining about something
• Can wake up whenever I want and go to sleep whenever I want
• Definitively more money then having a regular day job
• More time to have a serious relationship (not that before did not had really time for serious relationship, but … I could not dedicate the time that person would have deserved so it often ended up in the bad way, and after awhile stopped to give such hopes to girls)

The Bad

• No more wild going outs every night (just occasionally now)
• No more coming back home drunk and waking up with a new chick next to me
• No more healthy laughs and doing stupid things with my friends
• Lost my body shape
• Became more lazy then what I used to be
• Wrapped up in few word – Killed my social life

You might be asking why I am bragging about this, well I am not cursing, or bragging or whining I am just coming close to reality and giving you another point of view on how things might turn out if you decided to quit your day job and make money from home, and even if you decide to do that just don’t let yourself get involved way too much and forget about your social life. Spending time to learn internet marketing, affiliate marketing and other streams of making money online will most likely get you addicted to your computer after a while. Just take a break from time to time, go out, remind yourself that there is a real whole world out there and not just the virtual one you can see through your web browser.

Ok, we touched the argument, secret tips, or rather as you have read in many others blogs unique and useful content. It is not a big secret, it is not something that you can’t really understand or that does not make sense. Think about your blog for a moment and compare it to a bar, what does your bar need to have in order to make money? People aka clients, now it comes in game that secret which is not that secret.

You have most probably seen in your neighborhood a bar that opens under new management this month and it closes for ever the next month. The problems could be; the place where the bar was located is in wrong corner, the bar is not well dressed up, the owner of the bar is not passionated at all on running a bar but he thought it could be a good business or simply the owner of the bar doesn’t have enough friends.

In blogging some of those rules apply as well, the first thing it requires is, to be passionate about the topic under which you are building your blog, if there is no passion and you are running the blog just to make money online you will most probably fail, if you have the passion of that subject you will most probably write more in depth articles and discuss arguments from your point of view, thing which will touch the readers that share the same passion and jump on board to discuss that argument from their point of view, so there we go, we got people to our blog. Your post and the commentators will explain that argument from different point of views, and don’t lie yourself that readers won’t be reading the comments, they will, and actually it is possible that they will agree with one of your commentators statement and jump on board. A good post with useful informations will most likely intrigue readers to see what other useful arguments you have wrote about, and here comes another regular reader to your blog.

As you can see, the whole discussion is directed to traffic, readers, and whoever tells you that traffic is not necessary to make money online than let me tell you they are filling you with crap. You need people to sell your products, and you need visitors to click on your ads.

Now enters in scene the big part, when you have already build credibility to your readers because you are passionate on what you are writing and your arguments do make sense which reflects to the fact that you do actually know what you are talking about. Why do you need all this credibility thing? If you remember I told you that the big money makers actually make most of their money from affiliates, it requires less work but more credibility so that your readers can trust you and sign up for something you are referring them. Most of the readers will not actually mind if you are using affiliate links when referring them to another site or you are using simple URL structure.

Another point that I would like to highlight is the fact that bloggers that are passionate on their topic do have a huge readers base or rather, they do build a huge readers base as time passes. All this results in decent traffic, a traffic which you can only THAN monetize at the point you were always dreaming, private ad sales. It all becomes your game now, you got the reader base, you got the active commentators, you get the visitors and all these are things which advertisers note, and if they WILL note than they will most probably like to advertise on your site, and private ad sales is the biggest money maker ever existed, as you manage the rules, you approve the ads and most important, you get 100% of the revenue.

But to achieve all that road, we need to get back to the core of this post, putting your passion online, running a blog about which you are passionate and you do actually know what you are talking about. Before you make money online, have you started really a blog under a subject you are passionate of?

The Flock Social Web Browser has built in some great social media functions such as, facebook integration, flickr, twitter and YouTube, all functions which make possible you keep in touch with your friends without really the need to go to the site and check which of your friends is online, share pictures with your friends by dragging and dropping photos, videos, feeds and text from the Media minibar and web pages, interact instantly by jumping on their profile, sending message.

The Flock browser has a well organized features which appear as sidebar, it doesn’t disturb your navigation or even slows it down, yet it places all your needed things right on hand.

But what I like more about Flock is the possibility to setup a blog account, on all the next named blogging platforms

• Self-Hosted Blog

Under self hosted blog it includes WordPress platform as well as other type of platforms. Once you have setup your account, you can directly write and publish a post from within the browser, no matter what you are surfing and without the need to go to your blog and login. Once you finish writing your blog while watching a video on YouTube you can click the publish button and you get your blog post published, on which category I have no clue, I believe under the default category and still have to figure out if this can be setup to pick the category or not, will check on later on their numerous extensions (aka addons).

I have to admit I am liking this browser, even tho I am used to firefox I think i will pass to Flock or flick a flock, oh well, after all it is based on Mozilla FireFox, so it has the fast browsing, security and semantically correctly displaying xHTML sites just as FireFox it does, just that it has some GREAT features for bloggers that can make things much easier.
